FAQS
SALES & DISCOUNT PERIODS
At Jalayimiya, sales are intentionally rare.
To preserve the integrity and premium nature of each collection, in 2026 we're holding two main sale periods:
• End of Summer Sale
• Black Friday Event
These moments allow our community to access selected pieces at a reduced price while enabling the brand to build capital and continue releasing new, thoughtfully created collections throughout the year.
Outside of these periods, full-price collections reflect the true value of our small-batch, wearable cultural design.
Discount code use during sale periods
Welcome credits, loyalty rewards, review credits and promotional codes are not valid during sale periods unless explicitly stated.
Only one promotion may be used per order, and discounts cannot be combined with sale pricing or applied to previously discounted items.

SIZING & FIT
Do your swimsuits run true to size?
Our pieces are designed for real bodies, with considered coverage, support and adjustability where possible.
Fit may vary by style and body shape, so we recommend:
• checking the size guide on each product page
• contacting us for personalised sizing support
What sizes do you offer?
Most Jalayimiya pieces are produced in sizes 6–20.
As a small independent label, production minimums and sustainability considerations limit how many sizes can be created at one time.
We continue working toward broader inclusivity as the brand grows.
SIZING EXPANSION & INCLUSIVITY
How has Jalayimiya sizing evolved?
Jalayimiya launched in 2022 as a print-on-demand label with limited sizing capability.
In 2024, we transitioned into independent manufacturing, beginning with sizes 8–14, then expanding to 8–18 as production capacity grew.
As of 2026, most Jalayimiya styles are available in sizes 6–20.
Each stage of growth reflects what is realistically possible for a small, self-funded Aboriginal-owned brand balancing sustainability, minimum order quantities, and responsible production.
Will you expand sizing further?
Yes.
Inclusive sizing is something we are actively working toward.
Expanding size ranges responsibly requires:
-
significant manufacturing investment
-
higher minimum order quantities
-
careful cash-flow planning to avoid waste
As the brand grows, broader sizing will continue to be explored in a sustainable and financially responsible way.
Why does sizing expansion take time?
Unlike large fashion corporations, Jalayimiya operates as a grassroots independent label.
Every size increase must be funded through:
-
real customer orders
-
reinvested revenue
-
careful production planning
Growing slowly ensures we can expand inclusively without compromising quality, sustainability, or the future of the brand.
SUSTAINABILITY & SMALL-BATCH PRODUCTION
How is Jalayimiya sustainable?
Our approach is guided by intentional design, conscious production and respect for Country.
We prioritise:
• small-batch production to reduce waste
• recycled or regenerated fibres where possible
• timeless, durable design over fast trends
• slow, considered collection releases
Why are quantities limited?
Short production runs help us:
• minimise overproduction and landfill
• maintain quality and craftsmanship
• release collections thoughtfully rather than mass-producing trends
Small runs are a conscious sustainability decision and part of protecting the integrity of the brand.
RESTOCKS & PRODUCT RELEASES
Will sold-out styles return?
Most pieces are produced in small batches.
Once sold out, they may not restock.

ARTWORK, STORY & LANGUAGE
Where does the artwork come from?
Every print begins as original hand-drawn artwork by founder and artist Brodie George, a Walmajarri-Gooniyandi woman from Fitzroy Crossing in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
Designs are inspired by:
• Country and landscape
• family, memory and lived experience
• desert art traditions of Walmajarri culture
• contemporary storytelling through wearable form
Each piece is created as wearable artwork, not just clothing.
What do the product names mean?
All pieces are named using Walmajarri or Gooniyandi language, honouring cultural roots, community and family.
Language keeps culture visible, living and shared through contemporary design.
Do I need to be Aboriginal to wear Jalayimiya?
No.
Jalayimiya is created by an Aboriginal woman and grounded in culture, story and respect for Country, but it is ally-friendly and open to all women who wear the pieces with appreciation and intention.
GRASSROOTS & COMMUNITY
Is Jalayimiya a grassroots brand?
Yes.
Jalayimiya began as a grassroots, community-built label, grown through family, friends and women who connected deeply with the story behind the work.
The brand continues to grow organically and intentionally, without mass production or corporate backing.
What does community mean to Jalayimiya?
Community sits at the centre of everything we do.
Many collaborators and supporters are:
• friends and family
• local women
• members of the wider Aboriginal and ally community
Every order directly supports an independent Aboriginal-owned business and future cultural storytelling.
MODELLING & COLLABORATIONS
Do you offer modelling opportunities?
Yes.
Modelling and UGC opportunities are released as EOIs throughout the year via Instagram and email.
Submissions are reviewed individually and may be gifted or paid depending on the campaign.
Submission does not guarantee selection.
DISCOUNT CODES
I forgot to apply my discount code. Can it be added later?
Discount codes cannot be applied after checkout.
